More flowers. A lot more flowers.

Just skip this post if you don't like flowers, but I know at least some of you do.

I don't know whether these are technically flowers or some strange sort of leaf, but close enough.

Last day in Hue

A little figurine in the shrine on the roof-patio of our hotel.

Another little figurine.

A puppy at Phuong Nam (home of the best fruit shakes in Hue) with whom Don was playing. To see more puppies, see http://dogsofhue.blogspot.com/. (Note: Not my pictures.)

Birthday!

On my 19th birthday (2 April) the staff at the hotel got me flowers and a cake (and a pushcart ride to the elevator). One of the advantages of being forced to surrender your passport, I suppose.

Frosting flowers on the cake.

The candles.

The whole cake.

The flowers.

Yes, as you might have noticed, I like photographing flowers

Not sure what kind of flower this is, but there are a lot of them here. Anyone know?
UPDATE: It is a Plumeria (common name Frangipani) flower. Thanks, Dana!

Not sure what this is, either, and again, there are a lot.

This I know. Water lily.

Lotus.

Two more water lilies. (Yes, I realize this is about the fourth picture of this type of water lily I've posted.)

Thunderstorm Fun

It took me 72 pictures of exactly the same thing to get one with a lightning bolt this bright.

There was an elephant. It looked nervous, hence my distance.

(Both of these photos appeared previously at goingtohue.blogspot.com.)

More flora/fauna

Koi in a pond in the Imperial City.

A flower in the same pond as the koi. It looks like a hybrid water lily, although it might be a pure tropical one.

My mom photographing a flower.
