Fun with aperture settings

I've been working on my technical photography skills lately, so here's a little demonstration of the difference between f-stops. The first had an f-stop of 2.8, and the second one, 14. Note the difference in depth of field, how in the first picture it goes from unfocused to focused to unfocused in the length of a barb on wire, and in the second the whole barb is relatively sharp, and the flowers in back are actually almost recognizable.
