No artsy picture for this one, more of an actual informative post. As a few of you might know, I was actually born in the Netherlands, in the town of Soest. We went back to visit, and after easily finding the house where we used to live, we had a bit of trouble finding Ziekenhuis Zonnegloren, the hospital where I was born. We stopped and asked, and the woman said that they tore down Zonnegloren years ago. Images of a shopping center or gas station or something like that filled my mind. She went on to say that they turned it into a nature park.
I have to say, this would never happen in the states, and it makes me sad. I love the change. They built a new hospital, in the city instead of out a little bit, and let the land of the old hospital return to nature. The thought of turning land from commercial use back into nature is one we need more of.
So here it is, folks, a picture of the place I was born.

Wow! That is so awesome.Although it makes me sad that this would never happen in the US, it also makes me happy knowing that there are parts of the world where people aren't obsessed with commercialization / cancerous capitalism.
